Walrus Cover

This cover design for Walrus Magazine was created in response to the rise of femicide cases in Canada since COVID-19. It aims to raise awareness while approaching the subject in a visually striking yet sensitive way. The concept focuses on communicating the emotional weight of domestic violence without relying on overly graphic imagery.
The flower represents femininity and the delicate fragility of life. Being constrained by barbed wire introduces a sense of tension and danger, symbolizing the realities of domestic violence as a slow and painful harm. This contrast between softness and restraint reinforces the message, allowing the design to speak to both vulnerability and urgency in a clear, impactful way.
